Cavendish Conference Centre put its state-of-the-art technology to the test on 3 November 2013, successfully live streaming the grand final of the National Scrabble Championship to almost 10,000 viewers via the web. The conference and meetings venue has played host to the championship every year for the last 42 years, dating back to when the venue first opened.
Finalists Allan Simmons and Paul Allan did battle to seize the title of National Scrabble Champion 2013. Allan conquered as the eventual winner, taking home the glory of the title and a £2,500 cash prize.
