Venue marketing consortium The Westminster Collection is pleased to announce that Andy Wilson, Principal of leading further education college Westminster Kingsway, has become a Patron of the Collection and the 53 venues it represents.

Andy Wilson’s new ambassador role is part of The Westminster Collection’s renewed goals and values for 2012 onwards, which include an added focus on developing future leaders and professionals through the creation and provision of learning, development and networking opportunities, as well as through shared industry knowledge and experience.
“Andy Wilson is a highly respected professional on the London hospitality circuit, with excellent relationships in the local business community and we enjoyed welcoming and introducing him to our Members and Associates in his newly appointed role as Patron of The Westminster Collection, at the annual TWC Christmas Networking Event at 116 Pall Mall on 19 December 2011,” says René Dee, Chief Executive of The Westminster Collection.
“We’ve had a long-standing relationship with Westminster Kingsway College for more than seven years in their capacity as an Affiliate Member and we look forward to further developing that relationship with activity that supports promotion of long-term careers in event management and hospitality in the Westminster boundary particularly.”
Westminster Kingsway College is recognised as one of the leading providers of education and training in the UK and has been accredited with the new national Training Quality Standard. It is a centre of excellence for hospitality training.
Speaking of his patronage, Andy Wilson said: “The Westminster Collection is at an exciting point in its development, as is the event management and hospitality industry in London, and I am delighted to become a Patron. The Olympics and Diamond Jubilee celebrations provide the sector with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to showcase its services and The Westminster Collection will ensure that the 53 member venues we represent are uniquely placed to take advantage.
“I am particularly pleased that The Westminster Collection has made a new commitment to the development of industry professionals. Westminster Kingsway College provides the very best training for both those currently working in the events and hospitality sector and the next generation who will succeed them. I am passionate about the importance of training in creating successful enterprise and, as Patron, I look forward to promoting the role of training in providing the vibrant workforce required to secure the future of the industry and success of member businesses.”
Andy Wilson’s patronage is the latest in a string of successful partnership initiatives secured by The Westminster Collection. Nine service providers joined as Associate Members in 2011, taking the total number of Associate Members to 35.
These include Global Ice Structures, Off to Work, Design Inc., Desmond Talbot, Patch Media, Summer Skye Photography, The Conference Bench, Troika Recruitment Ltd and Viva Live Music.
Associate Members of The Westminster Collection enjoy promotion of their services on the consortium’s main venue enquiry website, and they are invited to participate in the annual networking events, as well as the annual Spring Showcase. Personal introductions to the full membership are made and opportunities are created for them to make dedicated presentations to the members at EGMs and other meetings throughout the year.
