20/10/2011

Venue marketing consortium The Westminster Collection continues to strengthen its reputation as an eclectic enquiry hub for event organisers seeking simple access to the capital’s top meetings and exhibitions spaces, with the addition of another premium event venue to its membership – Imperial College London.

Imperial College London is one of the world's leading centres of excellence for teaching and research in the fields of science, technology and medicine. Offering an outstanding choice of conference, training, banqueting, exhibition and accommodation facilities, with more than 200 meeting and seminar rooms, Imperial College is London's largest academic conference venue.

Its room provision is divided between three London sites – South Kensington Campus, Charing Cross Campus (Hammersmith), Hammersmith Campus – with a potential event capacity of 600 at The Queen’s Tower Rooms within the Sherfield Building, South Kensington Campus. Accommodation is also available to Imperial College event delegates looking for affordable overnight packages during summer months. This comfortable bed and breakfast service operates in student Halls of Residence from early July to late September, when the university vacation period leaves Halls entirely unoccupied.

"Imperial College London is delighted to be part of The Westminster Collection. Our top class facilities and service, as well as our central South Kensington location, make Imperial College London one of the most desirable venues for conferences and events in London,” said Lauren Helps, Sales and Events Manager at Imperial College London.

“We are very excited by the prospect of the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics. As one of the most prestigious academic venues in the world, Imperial College London will continue to attract a wide range of national and international clients.”

René Dee, Chief Executive of The Westminster Collection, is pleased to welcome Imperial College London into membership, growing the number of venues now represented to 55. "I am delighted to welcome a new member into our Collection. The confidence in the value of our service being expressed by new and existing members alike is testament to our increasingly strong position in the MICE sector," said Dee.
